Dances With Films champions the unflinching spirit at the very core of the independent film scene. While the vast majority of film fests rely heavily on celebrity, DWF have relied on the innovation, talent, creativity and sweat equity that revolutionized the entertainment industry. And that reliance continues to prove successful with alumni moving on to write and direct celebrity-studded vehicles, star in blockbuster movies and net- work series, produce multi-million dollar films and create hit TV shows. Oh, and DWF even has several Oscar-nominees. In a world of homogenized, formulaic film festivals, DWF continues to defy the rules.
DWF EXPANDS TO 11 DAYS
Year 16 will mark a dramatic change for DWF as the fest expands to 11 days at the Chinese Theatres. DWF16 will present nearly 100 films from across the globe. With nearly 60 world premieres and double the amount of panels and industry conversations, the previous benchmark is about to be raised!
At DWF, every aspect of the festival is driven by an unflinching slogan: "No politics. No stars. No sh*t." The result is an unforgettable festival that puts great material in front of powerful people and truly allows a filmmaker’s work to speak for itself. DWF’s success comes not from a slew of big "names" populating its red carpet but from a formidable list of career launches.
