GWYNETH PALTROW BRINGING THE GO-GO'S STORY TO THE STAGE

Thursday, October 04, 2012 - Gwyneth Paltrow is in talks to produce her first musical by bringing the story of 1980s girl group to the stage.

The actress is eager to add another string to her bow by creating a theatrical extravaganza inspired by the band, which included Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock and Paula

Jean Brown.

Paltrow is negotiating a deal to co-produce the show with Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It is thought Paltrow will take inspiration from successful band-based musicals such as Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys and American Idiot and use The Go-Go's music throughout the production.

The Go-Go's were the first all-girl group who played their own instruments to have a string of hits in the charts.
