PRODUCER HANK MOONJEAN DIES

Tuesday, October 09, 2012 - Producer Hank Moonjean has died after losing his fight against pancreatic

cancer. He was 82.

The Oscar-nominated moviemaker passed away at his home in the Hollywood

Hills, Los Angeles on Monday (08Oct12), according to movie website Deadline.com.

Moonjean started his career in 1955 as an uncredited assistant director

on social commentary film Blackboard Jungle, before going on to become an assistant director on movies including Cool Hand Luke and The Odd Couple.

He served as an associate producer on 1974's The Great Gatsby and produced several Burt Reynolds films, including 1978's Hooper and 1980's Smokey And The Bandit II.

Moonjean received a Best Picture Academy Award nomination for Dangerous

Liaisons in 1988.
