Tuesday, October 09, 2012 - Police in the U.K. are pursuing 120 separate lines of inquiry into allegations late British entertainer Sir Jimmy Savile sexually abused young girls at the height of his fame.

The small screen veteran, who died last year , recently hit headlines following the broadcast of a controversial new expose entitled, Exposure: The Other Side Of Jimmy Savile, in which a number of women accused him of grooming them for sex when they were kids during the 1970s and '80s.

Savile, who presented various children's shows, including wish-granting

programme Jim'll Fix It, is now the subject of a new Scotland Yard investigation.

During a press conference on Tuesday (09Oct12), Commander Peter Spindler, head of specialist crime investigations, said, "It is too early for us

to give you an accurate picture of what 120 lines of inquiry will distill down to but we believe we will come up with between 20 to 25 victims."

Detectives have already recorded eight allegations against Savile, including two charges of rape.

As news of the police investigation broke, it emerged Savile's headstone was to be removed from his grave in the coastal town of Scarborough, England.

The police probe follows an admission from The Nolans singer Coleen Nolan, who revealed over the weekend (07Oct12) that she had been invited to join Savile in his hotel suite in the 1970s, when she was just 14 years old.

She told Britain's Daily Star Sunday, "When someone that famous wants to spend time with you, you're thrilled. I thought 'Oh wow'. But my sisters told me 'That's not right Coleen, that's just weird'.

"Considering what's come out, I feel thankful =C2=ADnothing like that happened to me. If I had gone ahead with it and =C2=ADinnocently met him then obviously I would have had the same fate. Why else would a fully-grown man ask a 14-year-old girl to go to his hotel room?"
