SARAH JESSICA PARKER PRAISES NEW YORKERS FOR SANDY SUPPORT
Tuesday, November 13, 2012 - Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has praised New Yorkers for their "impressive" show of support in the wake of superstorm Sandy, which hit the city last month (Oct12).
Parker, who shot to fame as Carrie Bradshaw in Big Apple-based TV series Sex and the City, was moved by the stories of residents helping each other after the tragedy, which destroyed hundreds of homes and left millions without power along America's East Coast.
The actress, who lives in Manhattan with her husband Matthew Broderick and their three children, tells the New York Daily News, "Overall, I think it's been incredibly impressive. It's been heroic. It's been an incredibly moving portrait of a typical New Yorker reaching out a hand to somebody, and I expect the resources will be there that are necessary to rebuild.
"But in the meantime, before that can happen, it's been incredibly moving to read all the stories and see on the news how people are helping one
another. But I'm not surprised."
