PRODUCER PATRICIA LOVELL DIES
Sunday, January 27, 2013 - Australian producer Patricia Lovell has died at the age of 83.
The moviemaker passed away on Saturday (26Jan13) with her son and daughter by her side after reportedly losing a battle with liver cancer.
Lovell began her career in radio and television and became most well-known for her appearances in children's TV show Mr Squiggle.
She later moved into producing and worked on movies such as 1975's Picnic
at Hanging Rock, and Gallipoli, which was named the Australian Film Institute's Best Film in 1982.
From 1996 to 2003, Lovell was the Head of Producing at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
During her career, she was awarded a Member of the British Empire (MBE) medal and Order of Australia, and she also received the Raymond Longford Award from the Australian Film Institute in 2004 for her work.
