PREGNANT DEMI MOORE MISSED OUT ON A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 - Demi Moore failed to make the team on baseball movie A League Of Their Own after falling pregnant with her second daughter Scout.

The Ghost actress was director Penny Marshall's number one choice for the

lead role of Dottie Hinson in the 1992 movie about an all-girl baseball league, but the filmmaker had to make new plans when Moore told her she was expecting another child with her then-husband Bruce Willis.

Marshall tells MLB.com, "Demi Moore I like, but by the time we came around (to start work on the film), she was pregnant. So, Bruce literally s**ewed her out of the part."

Moore missed out on the gruelling tryouts for the film, in which the hopefuls had to prove they could play the sport.

Marshall adds, "There was a big tryout where they were judged on running,

catching, hitting. Throwing is always the hardest for girls because they throw differently. But I would not read (audition) - and really good - actresses unless they could play ball, or were trainable."

The lead role eventually went to Geena Davis, and the film co-starred Tom

Hanks, Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell.
