ACTOR JOHN BRASCIA DIES

Friday, February 22, 2013 - Actor/dancer John Brascia has died at the age of 80.

The star passed away at a nursing home in Santa Monica, California on Tuesday (19Feb13) following a 20-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Brascia is most famous for his dance sequences in films including 1954's White Christmas and 1956's Meet Me in Las Vegas, while he later teamed up with dancer Tybee Arfa to form double act Brascia and Tybee.

The pair married in 1958 and was the opening nightclub act for stars such

as Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, Dean Martin and George Burns, as well as appearing on the small screen on The Ed Sullivan Show and The Jack Benny Show.

Aside from his dance career, Brascia also worked as an actor in films including The Ambushers and The Wrecking Crew and in TV series S.w.a.t.

His marriage to Arfa broke down and he went on to wed actress/model Sondra Scott in 1970, with music legend Tony Bennett serving as his best man.

The veteran crooner called his longtime friend just days before he died, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brascia, who subsequently married actress/model Jordan Michaels, is survived by two children.
