AZIZ ANSARI PERFORMS SPECIAL STAND-UP SHOW FOR SANDY VOLUNTEERS
Sunday, April 7, 2013 - Comedian Aziz Ansari paid tribute to superstorm Sandy volunteers on Thursday (04Apr13) by staging a private show for the aid workers in New York.
The Parks and Recreation funnyman showed his gratitude to the helpers by teaming up with officials from the Advil Relief in Action program to perform a special stand-up gig at the Barclays Center.
And Ansari, who lived in the Big Apple while studying at New York University, reveals he wanted to find a way to give back to the community after the storm devastated parts of the city last October .
He tells the New York Daily News, "I wouldn't have anything in my career at all if it wasn't for New York. There were comedy clubs here, and that's what got me started doing stand-up."
