DAVID JASON PENNED LIFE STORY TO CLEAR UP FALSE REPORTS
Friday, October 11, 2013 - Beloved British actor Sir David Jason decided to detail his life story in a
memoir to clear up false reports about his career.
The screen star, best known for playing loveable market trader Derek 'Del
Boy' Trotter in hit BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, was always determined to keep his private life a closely guarded secret and deliberately shunned writing an autobiography.
But he was finally convinced to pen his story after becoming fed up with inaccurate reports in unauthorised books about his life.
Jason, whose memoir My Life was released on Thursday (10Oct13), tells U.k.. Tv show This Morning, "The fact of the matter is that I've always tried to keep my private life to myself and to my family, and my professional life
as an actor, which I really enjoy and love and all that, has always been quite separate. But I was sort of put in a position where because of my longevity in the business, they said to me if I didn't do it somebody else would.
"They have already done a couple of biographies which were not that accurate, not that good, and I thought no, wait a minute - I don't like the idea
of being ripped off. So here we are."
