Wednesday, January 22, 2014 - 12 Years A Slave has been given yet another big Oscars boost after landing the Best Film Award at the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association's 2014 Dorian Awards.

Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards winners Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett were named Best Actor and Best Actress for their roles in

Dallas Buyers Club and Blue Jasmine, and French lesbian romance Blue is the Warmest Color landed both the Best Foreign Language Film and the Lgbt Film of the Year, while Daniel Radcliffe's Kill Your Darlings shared the Unsung Movie of the Year prize with Short Term 12, and director Pedro Almodovar=E2=80=99s comedy I=E2=80=99m So Excited picked up Best Campy Flick.

Other winners included Girls (Tv Comedy of the Year) and Orange is the New Black and Behind the Candelabra, which tied for the Tv Drama of the Year prize. Orange is the New Black also picked up the LGBT Tv Drama of the Year, and its star, Laverne Cox, received the Rising Star Award.

Meanwhile, Michael Douglas won the Tv Actor award for Behind the Candelabra and Jessica Lange won her third Dorian Award in a row for American Horror Story: Coven, which also picked up the Campy Tv Show of the Year title.

Top honours also went to James Franco (Wilde Artist of the Year Award) and veteran comedienne Lily Tomlin (Timeless Star Award).

GALECA will hold a toast for its winners on 9 March in Hollywood.
