Singer/Actor Rain Drops Out of X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Jun 9, 2017 by: WENN
South Korean singer/actor Rain has reportedly pulled out of plans to feature in the next X-Men movie due to a scheduling conflict.
The Speed Racer star, real name Jung Ji-hoon, had been slated for a role in 2018's X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but he will still be tied up shooting biopic Uhm Bok-dong in July, when production on the Marvel project is expected to begin, reports Newsarama.com.
Lee Beom Soo, his co-star in the Korean film about a top cyclist, shared the news of Rain's X-Men departure with the local press, explaining the Uhm Bok-dong shoot is set to roll well into August.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to focus on Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner's young Jean Grey character, a role she will reprise from last year's X-Men: Apocalypse.
Famke Janssen previously portrayed Jean Grey in the X-Men movies.
