Jun 13, 2017 by: WENN
Japanese-Australian actress Shioli Kutsuna has scored her big Hollywood break after landing a role opposite Ryan Reynolds in the Deadpool sequel.
The 24-year-old, best known for her work in manga adaptation Shinichi Kudo's Written Challenge, has been added to the line-up for the forthcoming action blockbuster.
Details about her character have yet to be released, but it's being described as a "key role," according to Deadline.com.
She is the latest newcomer to be added to the cast--actors Jack Kesy and Brianna Hildebrand recently signed on to the project, while Zazie Beetz will play Domino.
Ryan will reprise his role as the titular antihero for the follow-up to 2016's smash hit, and Josh Brolin will tackle Deadpool's main nemesis, Cable. Morena Baccarin is also poised to return as Vanessa, Deadpool's love interest.
David Leitch is set to direct the film, which is scheduled for release next summer.
Kutsuna has been making moves in Hollywood since branching out of the Japanese entertainment industry. She features alongside Josh Hartnett in forthcoming independent release Oh Lucy!, and appears alongside Jared Leto in upcoming crime thriller The Outside.
