Clint Howard Lands Cameo in Brother Ron's Han Solo Movie

Filmmaker Ron Howard has added his actor brother Clint to the cast of the forthcoming Han Solo movie.

The A Beautiful Mind director took over the reins of the Star Wars spin-off in June, following the exit of previous moviemakers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord.

The as-yet-untitled project is currently in production, with Alden Ehrenreich as a young Solo, a part made famous by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars films, and co-stars including Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke.

Now Ron has revealed there will be another familiar face in the line-up, after a Twitter fan asked if he would be continuing his tradition of casting his sibling Clint Howard in a small role.

"Please tell me you have a role for Clint," the follower wrote, in response to one of Ron's set photos.

"You won't be disappointed," Ron replied on Wednesday, suggesting Clint will be making an appearance onscreen, just like he did in Apollo 13, Frost/NixonCinderella Man, Backdraft, The Dilemma, Splash and Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas, among many others.

Details about Clint's cameo have yet to be released.

The Han Solo film is set to hit theaters next spring.
