Laura Dern Nearly 'Passed Out' from Thrill of Star Wars Set

Laura Dern was so worked up from the excitement of filming Star Wars she nearly "passed out."
The Oscar nominated actress has won roles in a diverse range of films throughout her career, starring in 1993's Jurassic Park and alongside Reese Witherspoon in 2014's Wild.
For her next project, Laura is portraying Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and she admitted during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night that she found shooting the scenes to be an overwhelming experience.
"To be an actor my whole life, but first a kid who loved movies, and (to) walk on a set with your costume ready... you open your eyes to do a scene like any other work day and it's Star Wars. I could cry!" she said. "Literally, (I was) like, 'Oh my God, that's (robot character) R2D2.' I thought I was going to pass out. It's the greatest thing that ever happened to me. It's amazing, it's so incredible."
However, at one point during the shoot, director Rian Johnson pointed out to Laura that she was getting a little carried away. To her embarrassment, the 50-year-old had been caught on camera making sound effects for her blaster.
"I didn't know I did it, but I guess they were watching dailies. There is a moment where I get to have a space weapon in my hand... And I went 'pew pew' as I (pointed the gun). They've taken the sound out. I don't think you'll hear that in the movie," she laughed.
