Aug 31, 2017 by: WENN
Actor/filmmaker Joel Edgerton has recruited rocker Flea and singer/songwriter Troye Sivan for his new movie.
They'll join actress Cherry Jones and Manchester by the Sea star Lucas Hedges in gay conversion drama Boy Erased, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hedges will star as the son of a Baptist minister who is outed by his parents, played by Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe, and forced into conversion therapy.
Edgerton's film is based on Garrard Conley's book Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith, and Family.
The Black Mass star, who made his directorial debut in 2015 with The Gift, will also produce the film.
Flea and Sivan aren't new to acting--the Red Hot Chili Peppers star had a small role hit action film Baby Driver, while Sivan appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
