'The Hitman's Bodyguard' Is No. 1 at the Box Office

The Hitman's Bodyguard has topped the North American box office for the third week in a row.
The action film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds has earned $10.2 million during Labor Day weekend. The film has garnered a total of $57.5 million in the U.S. and has become the first movie of the year to stay at number one for three weeks.
Annabelle: Creation has come in second with $7.3 million, while Wind River takes the third spot with $5.8 million to bring its total to $18.2 million.
Leap! and Logan Lucky round out the Top 5 with $4.8 million and $4.4 million, respectively.
The Hitman's Bodyguard continued reign comes after a slow movie-going holiday weekend in the U.S. There were no new releases during Labor Day weekend and for the first time since 1999 earnings are not expected to cross $100 million, down from last year's $128.3 million.
Next week, the North American box office is expected to pick up again with the release of remake It, which is predicted to earn between $60 million to $65 million range.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Lego Batman movie spinoff Ninjago, and Tom Cruise's American Made are also set for release this month.
Meanwhile, overseas Dunkirk has sailed into the number one spot in China with $30 million, bringing its worldwide total to $458.8.
Despicable Me 3 is expected to pass the $1 billion mark worldwide this week and Baby Driver has cruised past $100 million globally. The Hitman's Bodyguard is also expected to reach the milestone this week.
