Jude Law Joining Blake Lively for Female Spy Film
Sep 28, 2017 by: WENN
Jude Law has reportedly been tapped to join forces with Blake Lively for new spy thriller The Rhythm Section.
Blake recently accepted the mission to play a top secret agent in the new espionage thriller, and now Jude is in talks to co-star.
Details about his role have yet to be revealed, but the film will be produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the brains behind the last eight James Bond blockbusters.
The Handmaid's Tale director Reed Morano will call the shots on the project, which is based on Mark Burnell's Stephanie Patrick spy novels. The author will adapt his story for the big screen and serve as an executive producer on the movie, which is expected to be the start of a new franchise.
Production is due to begin later this year in the U.K., Ireland, Spain, Switzerland and the U.S.
Jude and Blake had previously been poised to work together on Steven Soderbergh's psychological thriller Side Effects, but the Gossip Girl star was subsequently replaced in the 2013 film by Rooney Mara.
