Hollywood Big Guns Circling New Quentin Tarantino Movie
Nov 20, 2017 by: WENN
Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio are reportedly in talks with Quentin Tarantino to join the cast of his star-studded new Sharon Tate movie.
Tentatively titled #9, the filmmaker's latest project has been snapped up by Sony Pictures executives, who beat out other studio heads in a fierce Hollywood bidding war--and it looks as if he'll have some superstars along for the ride, according to Deadline.
Cruise has yet to work with Quentin, but Pitt appeared in Inglorious Basterds and DiCaprio portrayed the villain in the director's Django Unchained.
Tarantino reportedly has his sights set on Margot Robbie as tragic actress Tate, who became a victim of Charles Manson's killer cult The Family in the late 1960s, in the film, which is set in Los Angeles in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Shooting is scheduled to begin next year, with Harry Potter’s David Heyman on board as a producer, alongside Tarantino.
It will be the first major studio movie for the Pulp Fiction director, who parted ways with The Weinstein Company as the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal exploded last month.
Tarantino has made all eight of his films to date with Weinstein as producer.
