David S. Goyer Tapped to Direct Masters of the Universe - Report
Dec 4, 2017 by: WENN
The Dark Knight Trilogy screenwriter David S. Goyer has reportedly entered negotiations to direct the long-gestating Masters of the Universe movie reboot.
Charlie's Angels filmmaker McG walked away from the planned project earlier this year, leaving the live-action version of the 1980s He-Man cartoon series in limbo, but now sources tell TheWrap.com Goyer has been tapped as his replacement.
The noted Man of Steel and Blade writer is already involved in the film after penning the most recent draft of the script for Sony Pictures.
Casting details have yet to be revealed, but last year, Kellan Lutz was linked to the role of He-Man after news spread of a meeting the Twilight star had had with McG.
The Masters of the Universe last hit the big screen in 1987, when Dolph Lundgren starred as muscle-bound Adam, Prince of Eternia, aka He-Man, opposite Frank Langella as villain Skeletor.
The blockbuster remake is currently scheduled for release in December, 2019.
