Gore Verbinski Walks Away From Channing Tatum's Problem-plagued Gambit
Jan 12, 2018 by: WENN
Channing Tatum's X-Men spin-off Gambit has hit another roadblock--director Gore Verbinski has pulled out.
Scheduling issues forced the filmmaker to walk away from the project, according to multiple reports, leaving Tatum's mutant movie without a director.
The man behind the Pirates of the Caribbean films was set to start shooting in New Orleans, Louisiana in March.
Verbinski joined the project in October, following the departures of Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman.
Channing is still on board to tackle the character, who was previously played on the big screen by Taylor Kitsch, and the film is still scheduled for a February, 2019 release.
