, 36% Audience Score- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsSimple plot and subpar performances.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt's the exorcist done poorly, where the demon is the house.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsNeither scared me or left me shaken, A Demon Within is a rough horror movie that I didn't much enjoy.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsDreadful. Bad acting. Bad dialogue. Bad directing. Bad pacing. So bad. Not worth my two hours. And I am generally a forgiving fan of schlocky horror films. This was not in “the so bad it’s good” category.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI have watched a lot of B grade horror movies, but this is one of the worst. The acting by the "doctor" and "priest" as well as the writing was horrible. don't wast your time, even if you like B Grade horror movies.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsIf the story had any hope horrible acting kills it. A Demon Within is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The story is unoriginal, the acting is unbelievably bad, and the effects are embarrassing.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsthe acting in this movie is so bad it made me angry that I wasted my time watching it.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThis might've been a good movie, but the acting and dialogue is painful...
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsFour very scary words showed up on the screen at the beginning of A Demon Within, "Inspired by true events". As unpredictable and terrifying as this film was I'm terrified to find out which true events were real. To say the movie was creepy would be an understatement. Main characters Charlene Amoia and Patricia Ashley killed it on screen. The thrills were so effortlessly thrown in there that I was practically jumping every few minutes. This movie will not disappoint. I recommend it to any move buff like me.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsA Demon Within is the story of the demonic Nefas, and the hold he has on the residents that occupy his home in Crestwick, Illinois. The plot is reminiscent of classic horrors like The Exorcist and Poltergeist yet they've completely made it their own. Although the movie has a slow start, essential to craft all the nuances of the backstory, the middle and end are jampacked with chilling horror scenes. It's a terrifying tale of an unsuspecting family's unexpected encounter with demons that certain members of the town have decided to try to forget. The creative direction that the film's director and VFX supervisor decided to take is nothing like I've seen previously in the paranormal genre. Really, one of the better paranormal horrors to come out in the last few years.
