Spoilers: Ah, yes, Florence. I suppose she liked the script, and was onboard as a producer at only 27, with her as one of the best and most magnetic actors going. There are a few logical flaws here, such as where did her brother-in-law-to-be's parents go, as old Morgan ended up with the granddaughter alone for part of it, after her parents died in the car wreck with FloP driving. Flo's soliloquy when she spilled her guts to her AA group on what happened in the car wreck and its aftermath brought tears to my eyes. The best plying their acting tradecraft can do that to us. Her alienating Morgan, who had been good to her, himself an alcoholic, was finally the spark that got her pawning her absent dad's expensive Rolex watch to get money for rehab to clean up her opioid addiction. She had survived the wreck, her addiction, her relapse into it and her near suicide, and at the end seemed to be thriving as a nightclub singer, a speaker helping others with addiction, which was upbeat. She was a survivor. But it was no happy ending, as she was still alienated from her former fiance and his family, except maybe the granddaughter, as the death of two of their number was too much to expect any propinquity with Flo. Well done. And Morgan played his role well, too,

The writer or directors lived at least a part of this story. Although somewhat contrived it was still poignant and heartening. Zach Braff is a longtime favorite so he can do no wrong by me. Florence Pugh gives a strong believable performance. Morgan Freeman delivers some very compelling work as well. Casting even nailed Molly Shannon perfectly in her role. Happy I watched it.

Really good watch, I put this on during the day for something to watch while I get housework done and I didn't do any housework or move the entire time. Brilliant acting of a wonderful story. Florence Pugh fast becoming one of the greatest actresses of our time.

First movie review here. All haters of this movie are looking way to deep. This is a great movie. Florence Pugh is a killer actress and make you feel everything she's feeling. I think Zack Braff created such a beautiful story for those of us that need a little substance and emotion in our movies, but don't want to hate everyone in the world. He made us believe that everyone is innately good and just doing the best that they can with what they can.

A Good Person - 7/10. A Good Person is a good movie, buoyed by the emotional and excellent performances from its leads: Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman. And outside of those two, the movie is just okay. Its a story about redemption, second chances, and moving on from tragic incidences. Its a simple and predictable story, directed well by Braff. Is it amazing? Not really, but, it relies on great acting, and for that, it makes it a good movie. Watch it if you want to see an acting masterclass, but don't watch it if you're expecting some different type of drama.

Zach Braff has improved as a storyteller over the years. He brought Morgan Freem over to this movie when they both worked on the comedy heist movie Going in Style (2017). And almost everyone already knows he was in a romantic relationship with Florence Pugh for the longest time before they mutually parted ways. This dramatic story about tragedy and addiction is a vast improvement over his directorial debut movie Garden State (2004). In my opinion, the performance by Pugh was heart-wrenching, while Freeman's was sad but steady, and they both came incredibly close to perfection. I enjoyed watching this movie way more than I had anticipated.
