I am not a huge fan of Richard Curtis films but for me this is his best one. The lead actors are very likeable which for me is often important if I am going to engage in a movie.

I really loved this motion picture. I'm a big fan of Richard Curtis and this is definitely his best and most mature film to date. I think what really made this film great was how underplayed it was, it's an epic story, but it's never presented as epic or grandiose, it's just portrayed at what it is. Domhnall Gleeson is very charming as the lead. And Rachel McAdams (who I'm not usually a big fan of) was the perfect love interest in this film, and felt very believable as someone you could fall in love with. This film definitely has its flaws, but it had such an emotional effect on me and it creates such a magical atmosphere that it was impossible for me not to love it.

I do not like rom-cons I do not like them a lot. I did love the notion of second chances via time travel. It’s about regrets and if only. Few films keep me thinking about the people populating them but this one did. An almost perfect film. I suspect that reviews by ‘critics’ say more about the critic than about the film.
