Acts of Violence

[A] slick and well-paced if uninspired time-filler ...

A gross, creepy and generally tacky piece of claptrap.

You can't knock it for false advertising.

The title "Acts of Violence" has less to do with the storyline of the movie it graces and more about what's perpetrated against the audience watching it.

Any hard messages it means to deliver are hard to hear over the frequent sound of gunfire.

It's too tasteful, if that's the word, to consistently exploit the more lurid implications of its sensationalist scenario. Which I suppose speaks well of the filmmakers as people. But not that well.

What could've been a decent cheap thrill is really nothing more than a somewhat unhealthy way to kill 85 minutes.

If you want a dose of bullets and all kinds of aberrant acts, you can expect plenty of them in the film that, as the name implies, "Acts of Violence", is specially designed for it. [Full review in Spanish]

It's brutal work, no surprise there, but the production doesn't consider material deeply, going the urban western route, rendering the feature completely useless.

Human life, the law have no value in empty action flick.
