- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsJudy Greer plays the type of character I don't think I've seen very often before- a slightly sociopathic nymphomaniac. In contrast to her sister (Natasha Lyonne), she has almost no redeeming qualities, but is still likeable. I've always confused this actress with Leslie Mann and she is also similar to Julie Hagerty. The other characters in this sex-comedy (which has no nudity) are mostly funny too.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsNot the worst movie, I watched it for the iconic Natasha Lyonne & Aubrey Plaza, seems like the writer is a lonely dog who wanted to make pretty actresses say & do inappropriate stuff... movie is immature half of the time, & only funny 1/10th of the time. I wouldn't waste your time.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI love the cast and it's funny
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThe writing tries really hard to be subversive to establish story. We get it, Judy Greer'a character is supposed to be the absolute WORST. The acting is what helps the film from rotting, it cools down with great character interactions like Malcolm Barrett and Judy Greer's cigarette talk or the strong sisterhood dynamic between Natasha Leonne and Judy Greer. Molly Shannon is very memorable as always. I did enjoy the point overall: live and heal for yourself. Honorable mention for Jessica St. Clair and Judy Greer's toy education scene.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI don't understand why some critics shit on this movie. I thought it was a beautifully crafted. I have met Natasha before and maybe I am biased because she's a friend of a dear friend, but I though the story and acting was absolutely entertaining and well done. I am not a word smith so forgive my shortcomings here but I have to say something as this movie was very fun to watch for me. I love the cast and their acting was on point. I am sad for anyone who doesn't have the ability to enjoy this film and the work they put into it. I love this movie and the cast.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsVery funny! so many clever lines that were delivered well. I am not sure why it got such low rating. We laughed through the entire movie. We liked several of the characters.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWell acted. Great to see unusual female characters (troubled sex addict and lesbians) in a film and have them be the focus.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI am amazed at these reviews... but not really when I consider these same meatheads probably elected Trump. This is a very funny, very raunchy comedy with a great cast of character comedians and actors. I mean superior comedy- 4 stars!
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsAddicted to Fresno tells the story of the tattered relationship between two sisters. Shannon (Judy Greer) is a sex addict who, despite being the older sister, is the one with her life in shambles. Martha (Natasha Lyonne) is the more responsible one, who lands Shannon a job with her as a hotel maid. Shannon's fresh start is thrown for a loop when she accidentally kills a guest she has sex with and they must find a way to cover up the murder. It's a premise with the potential for fun shenanigans and has the benefit of a strong cast that also includes Aubrey Plaza, Ron Livingston, Fred Armisen and Molly Shannon. Yet, despite all that, it's not very funny. There are a few moments that legitimately made me laugh, but far too little. The film also suffers from Shannon not being a lead that audiences want to root for. By the time Martha finally admits she's done with her sister, I didn't feel any kind of mixed emotion. It was more like, "it's about time, Martha." The performances by most of the cast help save a lackluster story and is the biggest reason to check this out. If you're not already a fan of some cast members, skip it.
