Affairs of State
audience Reviews
, 53% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGood acting. Great plot and had me on the edge of my seat. Really well done!!!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsBoring. Predictable peering week plot line. Crazy daughter comes home from boarding school and in three days falls in love with super guy. A little T&A might have actually saved the movie. Other than that the writing was weak.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsAffairs of State is a provocative political thriller that's not quite sure where it's going. When an ambitious political aid attempts to sleep his way to the top his affair with a candidate's wife threatens to destroy lives and careers. Unfortunately the film seems to be more concerned with the main character's sexcapades than the political maneuvering and conniving of the campaign. And the political landscape is a little hard to follow, as it tries to avoid labels yet makes allusions to current issues. Also, the cast is rather lackluster (despite featuring Thora Birch and Mimi Rogers). Kind of a mess, Affairs of State is a disappointing film that doesn't quite work.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt began promising enough, but faded pretty quickly. The ending was predictable and stupid. This was a film with a decent cast and premise. But it ultimately dissolved in stupidity and lost touch with reality. I cannot recommend
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAMAZING! They predicted what was coming before it came. You have to watch this twice, AT LEAST.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent show, gripping with a big twist towards the end.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe best movie I’ve seen this year!!
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI too am shocked that the audience rating is almost 80%. It is hard to believe that we watched the same movie! I found this movie was horribly done, and often predictable. There are many far-better sexy, political thrillers; this one doesn’t even make by B-list.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI loved the combination of political thriller and sex
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsWhat a bad movie! So poorly directed, miscast, and badly acted. We were shocked that a film with 88% audience approval (though no critic's ratings as of yet) could be so laughably bad. No chemistry between the romantic leads, no effort to establish their relationship, kinda icky plot, and choppy editing. I'd like to get back these 97 minutes of my life. It got so we were laughing at the monosyllabic mutters and pouty stares off into the distance, so at least it was kinda funny.
