While Bakri and Valverde are nice looking performers, too much of their time on-screen consists of gazing at each other with silly, smitten smiles.

"Ali and Nino" aspires to epicness and comes pretty close to getting there.

Kapadia seems more enraptured by country-crossing movement and breathtaking locations than the details of two people in love.

It's all very tasteful, if not terribly exciting.
