Such bad editing makes the ending so confusing

Not worth your time. Bad concept, not scary or suspenseful, eye-rolling reveal.

I am absolutely disgusted by this movie's portrayal of this story. As someone who grew up in the area; of the hundreds of times I've heard this story, never, have I ever, heard such an outrageous and disturbing depiction of John Bell. This is absolutely disgusting and is in no way, shape, or form accurate in any way. The fact that they say this is "based on a true story" is a slap in the face to the Bell family and the people of Adams, Tn. This movie is complete garbage and should be considered 'fan fiction' at best.

Supernatural tale. Told mainly in the past. But lacked a sufficient ending in the present: instead seeming to end just in the middle of something that needed more.

Not a horror film, really. Pretty cinematography but it took two subplots to show the haunting was about child sexual abuse.

good story, good actors, the special effects accord the time that it transcurred, remember is based on a true story, so you cant find an extra sobrenatural adventure

Kind of boring. It's a good plot and storyline. Nothing really to keep you interested.

Another ‘ Exorcist' style horror about demonic possession supposedly based on fact. Unfortunately ‘ American Haunting' fails to live up to those kind of standards. There's little in the way of actual terror to be found and despite a good cast, it just doesn't hit the mark at all. There's nothing that has not been done here in other similar films and most of them have done it better.

The premise is very old interesting Bell folklore and had great potential yet tragically poorly presented. The performances were good but not brilliant. Not many moments in the film to probably remember, except the costume design probably the most engaging aspect of the film. The screenplay was slow paced to hold the focus but visually there were some good camera shots. The movie has predictable jump scares not many notables for true horror fans though. Nonetheless, considering the flicks these days it is much better and one can give it a go. The movie will keep your expectation over the edge for the best part to cave in, but unfortunately, the best part never arrives. "Confused screenplay, Half-baked script and an overhasty direction."

How these are based on real events, blows my mind. Lol. This was good, but not brilliant. There were a couple of moments that scared me, which I hadn't expected
