A heartfelt exploration of teenage grief and friendship regarding the death of a friend. It is constructed as a recap and epilogue of the series of the same name, so viewers who don't know the source material may be left confused at times and fans of the show may find it repetitive at times. Disregarding these issues, the raw emotion of the voice acting and animation is captivating and will probably bring you to tears.

An enjoyable Anime written and directed in the traditional Japanese style. Lovely and not stressful. You will not find twists but very reasonable script :)

Well, it's a good movie is no big deal, with some extra scenes, and of course is full summary of the original series.

I dare you to see it. I challenge all 8 people from all gender to see it, all of them are were deeply moved, they cried. It's not a mellow or overly dramatic anime, but it's simple, about friendship, and sincere to the end. thumbs up

Even though the story was simply being retold, I guess the essence of it is to see how the characters truly felt at that time through them writing their letters and then letting it change your perspective while rewatching the same story from the anime series. All in all, for me, the movie just gave me another perspective to think about the original story with, and made the story that much more meaningful and enjoyable.

The movie isn't good but I liked it. People who didn't watch the series will find it confusing and those who did will see that they didn't add anything new to the story, it really is just a not very well directed compilation of the most important moments in the series. Good for crying (if you manage to understand what's going on).

A ton of characters aren't developed in the right way, and several scenes drag on for much longer than they need to. However, Anohana really stunned me with its raw and genuine emotion, stunning anime style, and terrific voice performances all around. And it's worth checking out simply because of the amount of genuine and raw emotion they put in here.
