Another great movie directed by Larry Clark. He made 3 of my favorite movies from the 90's. This one, Kids, and Bully. I can't get over how impressive his style of film-making really is. I wish more directors would follow his way of making films.

Director Larry Clark makes a Bonnie & Clyde for the 1990s James Woods, Melanie Griffith, Vincent Kartheiser, and Natasha Gregson Wagner Bobbie is a druggie with his girlfriend Rosie during the 1970s He ends up killing a security guard and his mentor Mel, a local crook showing him the ropes to survive Mel and his girlfriend Sid decide to take both of them in and go on a road trip being the best kind of criminals they can be It's kinda hard to be on board with these characters as they are pretty much criminals who rob, kill and get hooked on drugs A lot of this subject matter is just downright cruel Yet it can still serve as a mortality tale about the down and dirty Woods and Griffith are the bright spots in this, if only the movie had focused more on them

James Woods is great and the story is well done. I'm not a big fan of either of the kid actors but it's a good crime/road/drug movie. If you like things like natural born killers, drugstore cowboy or Alpadog you'll like it

The cast get the most out of a so so script.

Usually not a Woods or Griffith fan but this movie was surprisingly compelling, accurate to the life of a junkie (with obvious needed accentuations), and probably the most realistic and emotion death AND overdose scene I've ever seen. Not actually a 5 star movie, but it's lux in my heart

Sincere performances about social relationships make this movie. It is fairly good as a drug flick too.

Truly remarkable indie filmaking. Larry Clark is a visionary genius! No filmmaker has confidently depicted such strong/dark subject matter with such a keen eye and the most utter realism that Clark has in film. Add James Woods, Melanie Griffith, Vincent Kartheiser & you have an American Classic which is a toxic cocktail of Bonnie and Clyde, Gus Van Sants Drugstore Cowboy, mixed with the kenetic energy of Scorsese's Casino . It still carries the trademark visuals of a Larry Clark film; naturalistic scenes of improvised dialogue, illicit behavior among youthes, shocking violence, unflinching nudity, and sexuality. This truly should have been Larry Clark's arrival into mainstream cinema, with its 70's themed soundtrack, star-studded supporting cast (notably lou diamond phillips) and the visceral portrayel of life of the outlaw. Pulp Fiction eat your heart out! 90's filmmaking at its very best!!!!

I can kick your ass as soon as I can fuck it! Bobbie and Rosie are a young couple with heavy drug addictions including heroin, acid, and any other drug they can get their hands on. They live a life of crime and desperation. They meet up with an older couple, Mel and Sid, that agree to take them under their wings. Initially, they have money, success, and enough happiness to last a life time, until their fortunes take a turn for the worse. "You never fuck with a man's money, you never fuck with a man's dope, and you never fuck with a man's pussy." Larry Clarke, director of Kids, Bully, Teenage Caveman, Wassup Rockers, 42 One Dream Rush, Marfa Girl, and the upcoming the Smell of Us, delivers Another Day in Paradise. The storyline for this picture is actually quite compelling and well delivered. The characters are fascinating as are the situations. The acting was better than I anticipated and the cast includes James Woods, Melanie Griffin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Peter Sarsgaard, James Otis, Vincent Kartheiser, and Natasha Gregson Wagner. "If you don't like the risk, maybe you should change professions." This had received fairly positive reviews on Netflix so I decided to give it a shot. I will say that I enjoyed watching this film unfold. There were definitely some predictable sequences; but as an overall film, this was well done and well executed. I do recommend seeing this film at least once. "I'm a doctor shooting you up with heroin. No kid, I'm just a junkie and a real good thief." Grade: B

Generic from a screenplay standpoint, but Clark's gritty direction give it another element.
