Wim Wenders documentary Anselm...makes sublime and supple use of the finest 3D film experience I can remember.

Kiefer’s legacy is told through his breathtaking work, much of it depicting desolate, bombed-out landscapes.

It is as unique and thought-provoking as Kiefer’s own epic works.

As Kiefer’s monumental art decays, “Anselm” can endure as his memorial.

The director [Wim Wenders] has fashioned a mesmerizing engagement with Kiefer’s art, including just enough face time with the subject to elevate the work’s immersive, bleak majesty, rather than give it an aggrandizing spin.

As this film observes more and more of his compelling oeuvre, the viewer becomes more engrossed in the art than its cinematic presentation and the 3-D effect seems to fade into the background, necessary rather than impressive.

The final images of Germany after the war evoke, more than the feeling of guilt, the desire for a new Germany that moves forward, although without ever forgetting. [Full review in Spanish]
