- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI really liked this! I thought it was great across the board. Definitely a fun creature feature in a cool setting. Fatal flaw from being one to remember is using indigenous mythology but all white characters, that shouldn't be happening with creative leadership of this caliber.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsAntlers has been viewed last night, pretty solid. Really good build up in the beginning, but felt a bit rushed and lacked pacing later on. Definitely could have benefited from a longer run time, but the way they shot it was very nice looking. The Wendigo design and reveal is absolutely my favorite part, super eerie looking with a tinge of face mask gore made it a highlight for me. Reminds me of the monster from The Ritual. My main criticisms are that it is inconsistent with how the original Wendigo legend works; it also never explained what happened with the first one that attacks them while making meth. Overall we enjoyed it. The group consensus average was 7/10. Bonus 0.5 points for there not being a lot of Native American legend based horror movies. Thank you for the suggestion 😤
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThoroughly bored with all the performances, throughout. Very little payoff. Do not see this movie.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsterrible boring movie , don't watch this. i like queermo del torro but this movie is just bad
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis movie created a town and lives cloaked in depression and desperation, with no hope of redemption. The look and feel of the storytelling, production values, and special effects were amazing. But what was truly captivating was the young character with a tragic backstory that only gets more hopeless. This was a brilliant stroke of storytelling that made the audience emotionally invested. Also, providing a protagonist through the character of the damaged and regretful teacher only made the story more compelling. The bleak setting, wrapped in a cold rain, lingering fog, and haunted landscape, provided the perfect backdrop to tell the story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcept that goofy final fight with Wendigo it was perfect movie. I really like these mysterious horror movies, plot was great, actors too.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsSurprisingly few antlers, considering the title.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA schoolboy takes care of his sick dad, who suffers from a supernatural disease with violent proportions. A teacher decides to investigate the obscure reality of the boy to find he is actually hiding a mythological beast with an insatiable appetite for human flesh. "Antlers" explores one of the most terrifying creatures of folktales: the Wendigo. A monster story empowered by some of the most painful conditions of human existence: sickness, grief and loneliness. It also features one of the best performances from a child actor (Jeremy T. Thomas). Dark and disturbing!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsA bit obvious, both in its plot and symbolism, but I appreciate the movie's unflinching violence.
