A Pitch-Perfect Blend of Dark Comedy and Body Horror
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Appendage is a very solid and creepy horror movie.
With a great cast led by Hadley Robinson and Emily Hampshire, there are plenty of confronting and chilling moments in this film.
Some would say this is derivative of other movies (Rabid is one that comes to mind), but it really is a fine movie which stands on its own.
The film is a slightly letdown by some dodgy creature effects, but aside from that, plenty here for horror buffs to enjoy.

The movie overall was a 6/10. I will give it that much because of effort and execution, however, they could have done better with the FX used for the actual appendages.
As for the sub plot of main character being an up and coming fashion designer, with her best friend, that came straight from the 2019 remake of Rabid. From the designer berating her, to her going to get drinks with her best friend in a poorly lit bar, making a killer new dress and snubbing her nose at her mentor. The mousey, innocent sweet turns into a confident, sexy monstress with something to prove.
Come on.
And let's not forget the boyfriend. The one who loves and cares for her, but doesn't push or ask questions or show any real concern when she shows signs of distress of trouble. He just puts on his Homer Simpson face and says it'll all be okay. She just needs some time. Nothings wrong... Ok, Let it Shine.
Then **SPOILER** apparently the appendages feed long enough for a dying human to be able to travel across an undisclosed distance from a hospital bed, up a building, through a wall vent, unlock a door to let in her best friend (BUT OF COURSE SHE DIDN'T TURN THE LOCK ALL THE WAY SO THE DOOR IS STILL LOCKED AND HER FRIEND HAS TO RAM THE DOOR REPEATEDLY), fight off another appendage until her friend can burst through and save her, all while STILL DYING, so she can stop the first said appendage continuing to feed on said stupid a$$ boyfriend?
I will say, I did like the overall message of the story, which I believe is to love and accept all of yourself; the good and the bad.

I related to this very much. This movie is my life reflected back on me. The family life is the same as mine. True to life.

Acting was ok. Story line was not original. Remind me of a darker version of Milo.

I thought it would be interesting early on, but it ultimately lost me
