Arjun: The Warrior Prince
audience Reviews
, 64% Audience Score- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsLoosely based on the Indian epic Mahabharata, this animated film tells the story of Arjun and how he became the greatest warrior in India. This movie is only in the Hindi language, so non-native speakers must rely on subtitles. The background animation in this film is absolutely amazing! Wonderful mountain vistas, ancient ruins and lived in cities all make for a beautiful film. However, the character animation is lacking. The style reminded me of Netflix’s The Dragon Prince and that was welcome, but the characters didn’t interact with the environment correctly and the action sequences were often cut, reset and animated too slowly. The story boarding and writing didn’t do a good enough job, for me at least, explaining what was really happening on screen or introducing the characters well enough. I’d love to see a faithful western adaptation of this epic! If you are familiar with the story of the epic this is based on, there might be more appreciation of this film. If you can appreciate the background as well, then this film might be worth a watch.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsAdmittedly not terrible, but I didn't enjoy watching 'Arjun: The Warrior Prince'. The animation is the biggest hamper - it's pretty poor, you expect so much more from a Disney film; I get the budget is more than likely much lower than what they'd give to a full blown US release, but I feel they could've done better. Some parts of it are decent, but the rougher parts stand out big. I didn't dislike the premise, necessarily. Sure it isn't crafted to perfection or anywhere close, but the actual idea itself is solid. I can't say any of the voice cast stand out, though Yuddvir Bakolia fits OK-ish as the titular character. Animation is one let down, another is the pacing. There's pieces of action here and there, but the ending lacks something enthralling - I didn't care for how it was going to conclude. It's predictable which doesn't help, but that can be overcome if it's entertaining to watch unfold - this, unfortunately, isn't.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBrilliant film. Refreshing take on the Mahabharat and absolutely true to the actual story with no distortions whatsoever. Thoroughly engaging.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars'Arjun: The Warrior Prince' is a brave film because of uncompromised storytelling with the help of wonderful visuals and rendered artistry, which makes it a beautiful film with it's heart in the right place. And like any good film, it's weaknesses are not unrestrained and unchecked storytelling. It's only flaw is it's indulgence, and the weak dubbing performances. If you can forgive these, 'Arjun' is a good film, if not a particularly great one. Check it out!
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsThis just doesn't work as a movie.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThis is great story telling and beautiful animation. A world created that is authentically India. For once Indian animation without an inferiority complex and full faith in the power of their cultural myths. highly recommend it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsArjun: The Warrior Prince is perhaps the most worthy animation to have come out of India. Based on the mythical hero of Mahabharat (The Great Indian War)- Arjun, it tells the story in a unique fashion, narrated by the maid to a young prince while the Pandava warriors are in hidden exile. It is a fresh take on a story that has been told countless times to every Indian child. Even the visualisation is starkly different. As an Indian, I am quite proud of this one, and would implore everyone to see it.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsAdapté de la mythologie indou , Arjun est un film d'animation d'origine indienne plutôt sympathique. Les quelques chansons dans le film ne sont par contre pas forcément intéressante et nuise légèrement au film
