Armed Response

Per quanto, dal tipo di film, non ci si aspetti assolutamente nulla al di fuori di qualche sparatoria e di qualche pessimo attore, le premesse di "Armed Response" non sono per nulla malvagie. A fare la differenza in positivo è senz'altro la location, spesso utilizzata come ambientazione varia e piuttosto spaventosa; viene sfruttata bene nella fase di esplorazione e di ricerca di risposte. Purtroppo, una volta che queste risposte vengono svelate, il tutto si riduce ad un pessimo intrigo misto a fantascienza, che rovina inesorabilmente tutto il buono fatto prima. Comunque il tentativo è piuttosto ambizioso e il cast variegato.

initially, there seems to be a fantastically big opportunity to run with the 'AI gone wrong' theme... and i was thinking it was one which will sensibly pan out. But alas huge disappointment... and why didn't the last remaining soldier take off with the huge motorhome?

Woeful. 'Armed Response' is, simply, a total mess. The entire plot makes little to no sense, while the casting, cinematography and dialogue are just as bad. Some of the effects are OK-ish and there are two decent deaths. Otherwise, it all makes for an insufferable 93 minutes. They attempt to mesh horror and thriller vibes but it just doesn't work, I didn't feel thrilled once and the horror is set up so poorly; despite a couple of alright ideas for the latter. Wesley Snipes is the all-star name attached to this, yet is bemusingly put into a back-up role behind Dave Annable. Why would you not utilise Snipes as your lead? WWE Studios have done far better. It only avoids the lowest rating from me due to there, somehow, being worse films out there.

I'm 30min into this movie and we haven't had a single fight scene. Wesley Snipes and a pro wrestler and no fighting?!?! Why? There was also almost no dialog either. This movie should just be called exposition response.

One of the worst nonsensical movies ever made! Wesley snipes please go back to your swords and kill some vampires!!!

Watched the first 20 minutes, which was mainly everyone walking around with their guns drawn, opening doors, and shouting, "Clear!"

Some weird sh** happens in the movie but I enjoyed it.

With a bigger budget better sets and a better script this could have been a great film. It's not hard to see why this is a straight to Netflix Affair. Instead it's a pedestrian effort. Fight sequences are phoned in too. The premise of aself aware AI & a dirty secret uncovered was interesting but it just doesn't quite pull it off. That said I watched it to the end because I wanted to see what happened.

It's a combination of B Movie horror, action, and sci-fi. Plenty of plot holes but the possibilities should keep you guessing till the end.
