A very creative and charming Christmas movie that was such a pleasant surprise with just how damn good it is despite slipping past my radar for over a decade. It such a thoughtful and caring story with wonderfully fleshed out characters who are all very well realized with their individual strengths and flaws with great comedy and heartfelt conflict felt throughout the film. The way this movie tries to answer how the hell Santa Claus can deliver all the world’s Christmas presents in just one night is insanely creative and is presented on such a grand large scale that is so much fun to watch unfold (or in this case, unwrap). The voice cast is terrific and the dry British humor had me laughing throughout the movie. Everyone is humanized and there is refreshingly no official villain in this film despite some understandable interference from the Older brother Steve and the perplexed United Nations. This movie introduces so many fascinating concepts to reimagine Santa, from the generation is St Nicks passing down the mantle, to the subterranean lair hiding the North Pole yuletide operations, to the whole operation being treated like NASA running a stealth espionage mission for the world’s largest aircraft delivery system. The ending conclusion is very heartwarming and definitely earns its happy ending. Easily one of the best Christmas movies of the 21st century.

My 5-year-old nephew loved it -- watched it three times in two days -- and I liked it too! It's quick-paced and has some pretty funny bits (nod to the Grandpa Santa), which is just what you want in a kid's movie. The concept is quite entertaining too and gives it a freshness that is counter to the typical Christmas fare.

A slow burning classic. Gaining fans and accolades every year. With good reason. It's more inventive and funnier, smarter, more watchable and simply better than pretty much of the other modern day Christmas "classics". It's a joy from beginning to end.

Watch this every year with the kids, it’s a cracking film that does a great job of ‘updating’ the Santa delivery mechanism. Fantastic cast, very funny and it will become a mainstay of your Christmas.
