- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA by-the-numbers, yet entertaining, spy thriller. Charlize Theron handles the lead role superbly, and James McAvoy's dubious double-crosser is also finely acted. The grayish-bluish filter perfectly complements the film's aesthetic, given its setting in East Berlin just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. In a standout moment, a 10-minute tracking shot showcases a brutal fight and car chase. David Leitch delivers solid action.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSuccess in 2 hours and 5 minutes. Rated R for Sequences of Strong Violence, Language Throughout and Some Sexuality/Nudity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsHigh-octave. Great directing, acting, fast-paced, great soundtrack.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsWhat the film offers visually (a drab gray-filter look, unimaginative framing, with occasional neon accents as eye-catchers) is also delivered on a story level: a generic spy plot creates excruciating boredom, interrupted only by the pretty cool fight sequences. Charlize Theron and the rest of the wild double, triple, and quadruple agents are clearly having fun and are trying hard to deliver an entertaining film. But unfortunately, they don't succeed. The cringe-inducing 'coolness' of the characters and the constant needle drops (highlight: an epically sad version of "99 Luftballons") do the rest. A few technical deficiencies (especially in the editing) round out the overall impression: a film that wanted to be but couldn't. Better read the comic.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsStupid af, some good fight choreography but that’s it for anyone who is even remotely close to the period or the location it full of cringe. The relatively hogh score makes me sad.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsMore style than substance, but a lot of style, outrageous. The film is a bit convoluted and deviates a lot... This means that we barely know the characters. I personally don't know the historical context on which it is based and I have been lost throughout the film. The cast is phenomenal, but a little wasted. The jewel in the crown are the action sequences, especially the one on the stairs, which has given the film half a star. Theron is great, and the stunts too. The movie leaves a very good taste in the mouth, especially because of the sound and the aesthetic of the film, a marvel.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA fun and engaging watch that did come with it's shortcomings where story and character development sometimes took a backseat to style and pomp when the formers were really needed. This was Charlize Theron's passion project and the work she put in (on and off screen) before, during, and after shooting showed. Far from John Wick, in which his movie was inspired by, but very entertaining all the same.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsPredictable concept with decent action scenes, but not enough to keep interest on-going
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsBest James Bond movie I ever saw. Charlize Theron makes a plausible female Bond.
