Beach House

Saltiel's conclusion feels ultimately preposterous and somewhat unsatisfying.

There's an interesting idea at its core that it never commits to, and Saltiel can't fully execute what he does try to explore.

By making Beach House so spare - four characters in one location - Saltiel heightens even the most mundane interactions.

Pass up the invitation.

For me, Beach House is a near-miss.

Definitely marks Saltiel as a filmmaker to watch.

While "Beach House" connects in small amounts, it's frustrating to watch the movie remain so passive with screen elements that demand a robust directorial imagination.

Beach House has all the makings of great low-budget horror: limited cast, isolation and a somewhat plausible variable. Sadly, these elements get lost in messy camerawork and a mundane screenplay.
