Actually this is a re watch for me. Beautiful Boxer is a superbly told story, a true story and a very touching story. As usual I will let you read the blurb. It is not a story for everyone, however, everyone should watch it. You may not like it but you will all learn from it. The story us very well acted, excellently directed and beautifully shot. It is amazing. Now this story is not for everyone's library. It should be there and it us in mine. If you have not seen it rent it, stream it, or if you find a copy buy it. Thus film is definitely worth it.

Objectively I'd say this was a very good movie, but I just find that the movie is excessively sentimental and the acting can be downright awful at times. The problem is the movie, from beginning to end, is very sentimental. And that's just not something that I find to be good storytelling. In the end, though, I think this is a story that deserves to be told but not in this manner. The movie's cinematography also isn't particularly good but that's the least of my issues. The acting is hit and miss, there's some scenes, mostly involving the kids, that are simply embarrassing. I think the movie does a good job at presenting Nong Toom as a very likable character that you can sort of root for and his search for what he truly wants in his life. The fighting scenes are decent but they are a little repetitive. So really...it's got a good story but its sentimentality and poor acting keep it from being much more than it could be.

Nice movie, contains massages. But I couldnt accept the story somehow, I actually couldnt feel the meanings of the movie, maybe because I am pleased with my identity, but for the people who's not pleased with dur own body and dur own identity, it's a great movie for all of yous.

He fights like a man so he can become a woman. Based on the real life story of Parinya Charoenphol, a Muay-Thai boxer who underwent a sex change operation to become a woman. Believing that he's a girl trapped in a boy's body, Parinya Charoenphol (affectionately known as Nong Toom in Thailand) sets out to master the most masculine and lethal sport of Muay Thai boxing to earn a living and achieve his ultimate goal of total femininity. Touching, funny and packed with breathtaking Thai kickboxing sequences, Beautiful Boxer traces Nong Toom's childhood, teenage life as a traveling monk and grueling days in boxing camps. Shot in 9 provinces across Thailand and in Tokyo, the film also features a series of explosive kick-boxing matches!
