Hadn’t watched this movie since I was a kid and revisited it recently—Loved seeing it again as a young adult. One of my favorite aspects of the movie was the focus on bringing community together. The movie really showed how easy it is to fall into habits of judgement and isolation, but how equally easy it can be to reach out to those around you and come together. All this, coupled with Annasophia Robb’s acting, and the dog not dying made this movie 5 stars for me! 😂

Good movie with a fun and relaxing tone. If you read the book you'll probably love it. The dog does not die.

Its not terrible but, It can only go to one person that would think it's awesome. Its like its only suited for one person but the book is better. It has a good storyline a kid finds a dog and names it Winn Dixie. And then the dog gets lost and they only realize it was a misunderstanding. But the movie is just so over everywhere and everything goes on faster then my grandmas life spand. Like already in 20 minutes were already at Gertrudes pets and if you compare it too the book its way different.

God this movie is SOOOO BORING! The worst crime any movie can be especially a kid's movie. Considering it was a box office disappointment, I'm probably not the only one. Out of the nowhere the asshole manager of a TRAILER park says no pets, there are twin Kenny bullies. And out lead is boring. The dog's cute but a cute dog can't save a movie with no real story and boring to dick characters. Plus, her dad doesn't even have a name, just preacher. I doubt when he was born he was named Preacher. It's fine if it was a nickname but it's his only name. I'm glad I avoided as long as I did. Don't get this for your kids, there are so many better dog movies out there.

I'm a fan of AnnaSophia Robb and I saw this movie for her. Only I got to say that I am no fan of animals, particularly dogs and I cannot understand the love for those animals. Opal, a young girl living in her small town with her preacher father befriends an abandoned dog that she grows to love with all her heart despite the hardship it brings to her father. But the dog helps turn her lonely existence into joy by knowing more about the people in the town. I love a little child seeking friendship, but I cannot bring myself to love animals, especially dogs.
