Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
audience Reviews
, 79% Audience Score- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis had four or five different storylines that could have been interesting if they had been given the time to develope, but unfortunately the best thing I can say about this movie is "a lot of stuff happens".
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA fun legacy sequel, way better than most movies return to the comedy well decades later. Great to see the characters all back again, and it was an entertaining time returning to that wacky world of the afterlife. My only major criticism is that the ending felt a little too rushed, with a climax to a whole bunch of plot points being crammed together for a rather unsatisfying conclusion. Michael Keaton, and all the legacy cast, slid back into their roles perfectly. Some of the new characters were a bit hit-and-miss, but overall a good time.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsSo disappointing. Storyline is fragmented at best. I feel bad for the actors who did a great job, but this production is not worth the title or funds.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsgood film but don't get hopes to high
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsJust more nostalgic scrap that adds nothing new. I gave it as high as I did for the acting. The story has way too many characters that ate useless and add nothing. The ending is somewhat confusing in the sense of what really happenef.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsIt's okay. Michael Keaton is box office as you'd expect. It's consistently wacky in keeping with the original, exactly as you'd expect. It's playful and faithful to the first film, yet lacks the magic that zapped the first into iconic status. It's decent, it's worth seeing, it's fun and it's creative. But is it objectively good? Not quite. The musical number lingers a little long and lacks the punch the original made you expect. The plot is signposted a little too easily and it perhaps relies a little too hard on Keaton to carry it. Are these things awful? Absolutely not. Could it have been better? Probably. Is it a decent addition to the Burton-verse? For sure.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starswas hoping for more. the weak screenplay and script is the killer....
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsIt did not take me long to figure out I made the biggest mistake I feel like I needed to be paid watching this movie.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsSo, as a big fan of the first movie I had to separate them. Which is hard since there are quite a few call backs. But the more I remembered "Oh yeah, the first movie was way better. And it seems like most people are here for a paycheck." That being said, Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton did a good job. Catherine O'Hara was just there, Jenna Ortega tried but something seemed off about her character. Almost like she was put in post production as a side quest. The plot with the ex wife was bland, sloppy, and made little to no help for the story. While it should've been the main focus, it was an after thought. The movie seemed to be better if steered in a good direction, but was almost a titanic failure.
