I loved it. Epic. Forget the "original", it's impossible to create something like that ever again, best not see it if you never have. This one is totally different and should be viewed as not connected to any previous work. Then it a good movie, able cast, the GCI annoys a little sometimes, but cinematography is good and story stays okay by me.

INCREDIBLE movie. We grew up with our parents watching this movie and my wife and I agree that it may be because it has such a strong Christian message that this movie didn't do so well at the box office. The chariot scene is even better than the original. The moral of overcoming hatred is inspiring. Beautiful film.

Great movie, hands down...rotten tomatoes must have given it a bad review because there's nothing rotten about it...ignore and give it a chance

I really enjoyed it, not sure why it had such bad reviews

I hated the animal cruelty in the 1959 version, but this entire film is poorly done. Terribly script with filming that is boring. The sound is so uneven I could not hear dialogue, then blasted with music or yelling.

The narrator is very annoying, telling obvious things at the end and stupid things at the beginning. Not very believable story and some scenes are exaggerated. The relation of Ben Hur with his wife is absurd in few scenes.

This movie is an absolute joke

Having never watched the original, this is now an all time favourite movie of mine. The story is just so good and touching and makes you want to forgive others. I feel so touched. Sure there are historical inaccuracies but we give them artistic license.
