Mindless, preposterous, viciously unfunny, cringe worthy on every level. This isn't a love letter to horror fans, this is a dire warning: Don't make horror movies like this if you care about horror movies.

This movie is wasn't bad, but also not great. Story is actually interesting and the humor is good. Only reason this movie isn't rated higher is because the acting and direction is crap. Like every single person's acting was terrible and unbelievable. And director seems like he let a lot of subpar things pass because he thought he didn't need to try as that's kind of the point of the movie, but it didn't help the movie. If the acting and directing had been better, then this movie would have totally hit all cylinders as a quirky, meta horror movie. I will say, Zachary Levi's cameo was pretty fun.

I watched this because someone online said it was better than "Hellfest," and I think they were right! I don't understand the low ratings at all. I think this is a great Halloween movie!

(I'm Mistletoe Virus I'm saying I love! this movie!) Blood Fest is a horror-comedy which can be filed under the meta movie bracket. celebration of the horror genre. A horror-obsessed teenager goes along to a new horror-themed festival called Blood Fest with his two pals. When there, it becomes quickly apparent that the horror is real and the attendees become the prey of the killers who run the place. chainsaw killers, killer clowns, a hillbilly psycho, sexy vampires!

A fairly fun movie that doesn't try too hard to be funny or edgy. Unrelatable motives from the antagonist side that led to a horribly dissatisfying ending but overall, worth the time of watching.

I enjoyed the film much more than expected! It's far from perfect, but the whole movie feels like a love letter to the horror genre as a whole. I found the characters likable, though i wish they had focused more on the rules and how to use them to advantage.

I don’t know what to make of this film. It started off promising, however, failed to generate any suspense with its protagonists trying to escape and survive. Similar films such as Haunt & Green Room serve up the thrills in similar situations and deliver the goods. Even though this had likable leads, and plenty of gore, the over the top, splatter fest, was lackluster and flat and not even funny which I think it was striving for as well. It’s not a total waste, but in my opinion, misses the mark.

this was alright; it's sort of stupid, but i actually really liked the premise of it all. i wish the overarching story was something better, but the action scenes in between were entertaining enough. i think i would recommend this one if it interests you.

Sometimes our love of horror movies goes to the extreme Dax witnessed his mother being killed by a guy in a mask and his father killed him as a child on Halloween He still has nightmares in his teen years but since then has developed a love for horror flicks His dad is being interviewed for an event called Blood Fest yet he is opposed to Dax attending since it caused a mental patient to go insane Film producer Anthony Walsh is hosting the event for fans but Dax really wants to go despite his father's restrictions When Dax and his buddies get to the festival they are unprepared for how real an experience they're in for Real people start dying and Dax and a few survivors have to rely on their horror movie intellect of cliches on psycho killers The movie deconstructs the genre pointing out how desensitized it has become; monsters have become soft, kiddiefied, less scary, and more family-friendly There's terrific gore to spare, funny lines, and even a fun cameo The problems are with well, with the slower moments when the mayhem comes to a halt and the characters have deep discussions This is supposed to be a fun splatter fest yet the script keeps trying to inject these scenes of development that kills the pacing It was so close to hitting the mark yet was so far from being great These characters are thinly drawn and the over-explaining takes the fun out of it all But for die-hard fans of the genre they'll still get some enjoyment out of the gore and the horror genre's deconstructed elements
