Blood Sucking Freaks
audience Reviews
, 46% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis is a 1970s drive-in movie, straight out of Hell .
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis is awful. Badly acted, desperately trying for laughs, gratuitous nudity that just appals, misogynistic, unpleasant, crude. Torture porn in the worst 70s way. A man and his assistant run a show in which, under the guise of 'magic,' they torture and murder people in front of their audience. But what the punters see as a trick is actually real. And shit.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsRIP Joel M. Reed I view the film as a metaphor for low budget horror and exploitation filmmaking. If you push the limits of sex, nudity, violence and gore you're viewed as a hack and a sleaze. It's tough to get quality actors for your films and getting critics to see your vision, but ultimately Sardu is just an artist doing everything he can to put on the best show possible.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhat is not to love about this film? From the amazing acting to the top of the line special effects! If Tom Savini says he is impressed with the effects you know they are the best!
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsOne of the original "torture porn" movies. Hard to classify this one.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsBloodsucking Freaks is one of those films that I typically stumble into that becomes just an exploitation of disgusting moments whose only purpose is to disgust I assume. An interesting horror concept: a man puts on a show that promises torture, which the audience assumes is fake but it's actually real. Unfortunately, that's all for the story, the rest is torture for the characters...and the audience.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI've seen a lot of exploitation movies, but this may (surprisingly) be the most misogynistic. I'd say it has some value in that sense, being so shocking that it should be seen to be believed, but it's so one note that it's kind of boring. It's kind of like a HG Lewis movie (mostly Color Me Blood Red), but less entertaining. It hardly feels like a movie, and more of just a series of scenes of women being brutalized and tortured for 90 minutes.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis is a horribly made movie void of any artistic merit or quality filmmaking, but it's great schlocky fun nonetheless. For b-movie/exploitation film fans, this is definitely a must-watch, though most others should probably stay away.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis movie was ridiculously disturbing. I am sure viewers from this films generation would be shocked or horrified at the grotesque shows and sadistic backstage acts. But, coming from a newer time era this movie was absolutely hilarious. There was no concept, poor recording, off scale shots, and none of the actresses/actors applied any real talent. I give it a 3 star rating, for their vivid imagination attempts though. It's about the only thing that kept me interested. Plus the brain drilling was impressive.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsPink blood, plastic body parts, and naked women tortured, this is a cheap and sick slasher film (but not the sickest one) that I advise everyone to stay away from.
