Booky's Crush

Such a sweet film that also deals with heavy subject material such as poverty, dropping out of school to take care of family, and mental illness while still maintaining a lighthearted feel. Very very cute.

While its screenplay is probably the most inept, tone-deaf, overly Canadian piece of crap of any movie I've ever seen, the premise and characters are delightful and cute. I'm torn, eh?

Twee but affable TV movie set in depression-era Canada. Lightweight and unremarkable yet unoffensive viewing - ideal for a midweek afternoon!

A girls movie, although a reasonable watch and quick enough to tolerate.

Frum! Certitude! Brighter and more peppy, with every individual character getting ample development compared to Booky and the Secret Santa. 'I learned that Manitoba's purple!'
