Boss

Within a few minutes of the opening, I knew this is one of those flicks you can watch with your ears.

In the end, it is little more than an extended high-energy commercial for the mugging wonderfulness of its leading man, veteran scenery-chewing megastar Akshay Kumar.

"Boss" is a film suffering from one fundamental problem, to wit: a lack of commitment to its central purpose.

"Boss" is billed as an action comedy, but it isn't always clear what is part of the joke and what isn't.

Cleverly-crafted mindlessness can be so much fun. Boss is mindless all right, but cleverly crafted it is not. Over and above everything else, it is designed as a vehicle for its megastar hero...

There are some movies that are worth your time and money and the effort of writing about them. And then there are movies like Boss.
