Boy Meets Girl
audience Reviews
, 79% Audience Score- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsIt feels like it was made and acted by a couple of teenagers. It tries to be educational in the least natural way possible. It also fails at it, considering there is a scene where it is implied that babies are the only reason to use condoms.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLoved it. First time i have seen a transgender romcom! Michelle Hendley is absolutely wonderful. I found it charming, sentimental, witty. For me, well worth the watch.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsWhile not perfect at all, it's a touching and well-handled film about love overall. An honest and complex rom-com drama and albeit simple look through the lens of young trans-woman "Ricky's" search for love and to be loved amongst other struggles.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA sweet romantic comedy, refreshing and pretty original. Great characterization.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe one part that could have added a bit more to it was the attraction/love that David had for Ricky. He said, "we did everything you can do." It was almost like he felt love for Ricky but societal norms made him act like a jerk, expected, especially in small town America. Ricky and Robby were awesome, especially when they realize they have loved each other in silence beautiful for years. Recommend for the whole family to watch, it can teach so much.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy favorite movie. Truly inspiring.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIn some ways I think this film was nice - it was honest, refreshing and Michelle Hendley is great and so is the character of Ricky. The thing that bothered me was the overly happy ending. Don't get me wrong, I wanted a happy ending, but somehow everything just fell into place a little to smoothly with no real sort of consequences. Still one of the more decent Queer films. Again, refreshing.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsI enjoyed the movie!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBeautifully told classic story with the added complexity of navigating the world as a trans girl or as a person in love with a trans girl. Michelle does an amazing job in her first major film role. The characters are well developed with genuine motivations. The last 36 minutes will destroy your eye makeup.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsLots of topics covered and you feel for all the characters on a much personal level
