- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis was an awful movie. The romance was not a true romance because the love was completely one sided. The hero was a selfish man-child who only cared about himself.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA heart warming story about dreams struggles and perseverance...we recommend it to everyone who is young and those who can reflect on their own experiences in life ...Susan and Bobby
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhen baseball player Dustin, edges closer to 30 years old, he contemplates his past 9 years attempting to make the major leagues. Chasing the high of being in the spotlight, he left behind much of his life to follow his dream. After making a choice to retire, Dustin returns home and must reopen the story books he once closed years prior. Brampton's Own harps on the importance of family, decision making and the clock of life that never stops ticking. When he is reminded of the sparks that once flew between him and his first love, he has to dig deep to discover what he really wants out of life. I love the way this romance portrays comforts role in many people's lives. It is easy to make decisions, especially ones that are inside our comfort zone. I can't wait to see this movie with my significant other again soon!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsBramptonâ(TM)s Own is about a struggling minor league baseball player who comes back to his hometown after being gone for 10 years. He reunites with his high school love, who is now engaged. I thought this movie proved to emphasize the realities of life. As things donâ(TM)t go their way, Dustin and Rachel navigate through love and career. I liked that in conjunction with all the complications around the high school couple, there were some very uplifting and comical parts that had me laughing out loud. It was romantic and real, and I kept wondering what was going to happen at the end. Iâ(TM)ll definitely watch this again!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBramptonï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s Own was a great story about finding love and pursuing oneï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s dreams. The story, written and directed by Michael Doneger, follows a 30- year-old man, Dustin, who has spent the last 12 years trying out for the MLB. After a terrible blow to his career, Dustin returns to his hometown where he runs into his high school sweetheart. Stars Alex Russell and Rose McIver do a fantastic job portraying ex-lovers who reunite and have to fight for what they want. The love and hurt is so plain on their faces, it's hard not to find yourself holding your breath along with them. This romantic comedy is perfect for a night in with friends!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBramptonâ(TM)s Own is a fantastic romantic comedy. It follows the story of Dustin as he returns home after once again failing to get into the big leagues of baseball. It has been his dream and calling for as long as he can remember. Returning home after another failed season he finds all the people who have gone on with their lives as he is sitting there waiting for his shot. Among these people is the girl that he once loved getting ready to marry another. He must choose between the woman that he loves and his lifeâ(TM)s calling. This film is fantastic and Alex Russell and Rose McIver did a great job in the leading roles. The chemistry between them really creates for some interesting scenes and leads this film to a higher level. The rest of the cast do a great job giving them context and make them feel like real characters rather than people who only exist for the other person. They have lives and feelings outside each other that leads to some great character depth. I highly recommend this film to anyone who is a fan of romantic comedies.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBramptonï¿ 1/2(TM)s Own is a romantic comedy disguised as a baseball movie, and I loved it. After the main character Dustin has to retire from his unsuccessful baseball career, he moves in with his mom back home and tries to win back his high school ex-girlfriend. The various characters Dustin interacts with who are introduced throughout the film tied in such humorous dynamics, and I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone loves a good laugh.
