Brave the Dark
audience Reviews
, 94% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBrave the Dark is a touching and moving drama film distributed by Angel Studios. It's about a troubled teen named Nate, whose life is turned upside down when he gets adopted by his teacher, Stan. Jared Harris carries the film on the acting front. That guy is just a top-notch actor. Always has been. The rest of the acting is subpar at times. It ultimately has a great message and is a decent family watch, although it has some dark moments, as hinted at by the title. It doesn't wear out its welcome and has some genuinely emotional moments from time to time. There is one that is absolutely heartbreaking and it packs a big punch. At points, it feels somewhat generic and some moments seem rushed. It just seems content with getting to the point and moving things along. But that doesn't bring it down too much. Overall, Brave the Dark is a worthwhile watch on the Angel Studios streaming platform. The message of the film really resonates. It highlights the good in people and how taking someone under your wing can be life changing for both people involved. It's a good reflection of Christ's teachings, showing acceptance, forgiveness and redemption.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGreat story of struggle and perseverance but I would’ve loved to see more of his story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBrilliant. Angel Studios own version of "Good Will Hunting." So glad they purchase the rights for this film. Everyone involved deserved it to be seen by the general audience.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIncredible true story, I was in tears. The lengths that teacher went for his student was truly remarkable. He showed so much compassion and love for someone who had literally no one else at a young age. So happy to see this kid come from such a traumatic childhood and make something of himself and do well. He sets such a good example for other victims specifically children. Makes me want to help all these kids now

- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAngel Studios hit this one on the head. They’ve missed a few but this one was good. Super inspiring, relevant and true.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI thought the movie was a great one about a very traumatized young man who needed lots of loving and he got it from his teacher who really cared about him. Watching his mom be murdered and his dad commit suicide right in front of him would do that in a very big way. He was lucky to survive his own suicide attempt.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGreat story…could’ve done without the repeated curse “word.”….otherwise very well done. I recommend it.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starslast 5 minutes are uplifting. The other 110 minutes were depressing.
